== Procedural quests (Bulletins) == === Wipe out the pirates === Often given at Military Outposts, this quest directs you to a nearby system where a band of pirates have taken up residence to terrorize the neighborhood. It's your job to kill all pirate ships in that sector. Bringing guns is recommended. === Explore Sector === Another mission offered by military bases that requires you to explore a nearby sector. Several objectives, designated by green outlines, have to be approached and interacted with. Once complete, you have to return and report your findings. While often uneventful, the sector may occasionally contain a few, or even many, hostiles. === Delivery === A station asks you to deliver some cargo to another station in another sector. Make sure you have cargo space or you won't be able to take it. You'll also have to pay the worth of the goods when you receive them (you get that money plus your fee on delivery) so no, you can't just steal it. Note that if you are close to an impassable Hyperspace Rift, it may easily be that the destination is on the other side, forcing you to make a long round trip. === Resource shortage === A station is in grave need of some item and you are the only one who can save them! Find the required amount of the required items and take them to the station for a price higher than you'd normally sell them for. === She's Innocent! === To prove an innocent woman's innocence you must follow the trail across 2-3 sectors (Similar to "Investigate Missing Freighter" bulletin) and retrieve the cargo she supposedly stole within 30 minutes. You will eventually meet somebody called Sphinx representing an organization by the same name. He will give you a riddle involving 3 names and sets of coordinates to solve in order to retrieve the cargo you need to save the damsel. Spoilers for the fun part follow. Be warned! # Erehton (xxx, xxx) 4 legs # Reniatnoc (xxx, xxx) 2 legs # Etiseslaf (xxx, xxx) 3 legs If you know the Riddle of the Sphinx from real myth, it reads: "What goes on four feet in the morning, two feet at noon, and three feet in the evening?" The answer is mankind/a person. So I chose location 2 before realizing that the names were reversed to read; # Not here # Container # False Site You then pay the pirates $10,000 credits unless you prefer to fight. Return the container to the smuggler and save the damsel! === Investigate Missing Freighter === Combat-focused quest. This quest will send you on a few jumps to null sectors before you run into some pressganged pirates who try to pressgang you into service. You have the choice of either fighting the pressganged pirates or getting the location of the pirate shipyard that pressed them into piracy. Some pirate shipyard designs can be salvaged for a large amount of resources. Dialogue with the pressganged pirates (in italics), and options (non italics): # "If you want to live, you have only one option now! #* "I'm listening." #** Go to Dialogue 2 #* "You're the pirates that destroyed all those freighters!" #** Go to Dialogue 6 #* "You're the pirates that destroyed all those freighters!" #** Go to Dialogue 3 # "You're going to have to become a pirate and fight for us." #* "Never!" #** Go to Dialogue 6 #* "Why would I do that?" #** Go to Dialogue 3 # "We didn't want to become pirates. But they attacked us and told us if we didn't fight for them, they would go after our families." #* "Who did that?" #** Go to Dialogue 4 #* "That's a nice excuse!" #** Go to Dialogue 6 # "The pirates that have their base in sector [XXX,YYY]. They now have a giant army, because they force everybody to fight for them instead of killing them." #* "Then why don't you turn on them?" #** Go to Dialogue 5 #* "You're no better than them now." #** Go to Dialogue 6 # "They're too strong for us. If we fail, they are going to go after our families." #* "Fine, I will try to defeat them for you." #** "Thank you so much, we will never attack anyone ever again!" #*** The pressganged pirates change their allegiance to their original faction (the one that gave the quest) #***The quest updates and provides the location of the pirate shipyard to eliminate # "You are outnumbered. Prepare to die!" #* The pressganged pirates turn hostile and engage you #* Leaving won't restart the dialogue, they'll stay hostile ru:ΠΠ²Π΅ΡΡΡ
