Gas collectors produce a variety of gases. Gas collectors are a basic factory, and require no production materials. There are four different types of gas collector. Gases are used in a large variety of applications throughout the galaxy.

Gases produced at these collectors are used in the following applications:

Purchasers of the products from this station should be aware that fluorine is considered dangerous cargo. Transporting this cargo can result in fines and confiscation of the good if the individual does not have a transportation permit.

It is notable that the Type 3 Gas Collector has a significantly higher profit/cycle and return-on-investment/cycle than any other Gas Collector, and the third-highest ROI/cycle among factories in the base game (as of 1.3.6). However the Type 3 Gas Collector has the drawback of producing a very large volume of product per cycle (24 units), meaning that it requires a very large cargo bay. NPC traders may not be able to clear the cargo fast enough, leading to the factory stalling with a full cargo bay and reducing profit. This can be offset by using a player ship to transport its product to a sufficient number of reliable buying stations.
